Lusty Monk MustardIn medieval Europe, there was a belief that spicy foods could "warm the blood" and lead to lustful tendencies. As a result, a few very strict orders of monks were forbidden to eat mustard, lest they fall prey to carnal desires. Other monasteries embraced mustard-making and turned it into an art form. Bertie County Peanuts Since 1915, this now 4th generation family business, located in Windsor, NC had been producing peanuts. Surrounded by beautiful waterways, creating a perfect rich fertile, sandy soil just right for growing some of the best peanuts in the country.
Big Spoon Roasters Inspired by his time in the Peace Corps in Zimbawe, co-founder Mark Overbay began roasting peanuts for butters in his kitchen in Durham, NC in 2010. Mark and co-founder Megan began selling their nut-butters in 2011 and the rest is history. Delicious, roasted, nut-buttery history.
Bone Suckin' Sauce Phil Ford (not the basketball player), a real estate appraiser and father of four in Raleigh, North Carolina, developed his sauce around 1987 while trying to copy his mother’s recipe for a western North Carolina-style barbecue sauce. The resulting fat-free, fragrant blend includes: tomato paste, apple cider vinegar, honey, molasses, mustard, horseradish, lemon juice, onions, garlic, peppers, natural hickory smoke, natural spices and salt.

Dr. Pete's Gourmet MixesDr. T. A. Peterson, known as Dr. Pete to his patients, was reared in the sleepy south Georgia town of Ailey. As much as Dr. Pete loved his practice of medicine, he equally loved the art of cooking, spending hours creating and preparing wonderful dishes. In 1985, his daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Joel Coffee, began bottling some of his recipes, and selling them to the public under the "Dr. Pete's" label.
